I started reading CTH/AF posts after a shout out from Catherine Englebrecht. Thanks to your team! Your news hub, along with several other aggregators, shines light and hope. And adds some spicy angles.
But this article on silos has struck a chord in me. This election season (4 yrs? 2 yrs? 6 mos? the election season never ends) has new metrics in our county. How many influencers can rise and fall as the long knives in our local silos whirr in the night. Who are the puppeteers. Maybe the DC "movies" are playing here too, the deep recesses of the local deep state are being increasingly lit?
I worked hard for election integrity the last two years, but have been sidelined again in the local silo by new operators who popped up locally in the last several years. Am I watching a true awakening, or just inserted operators in another counter color revolution...!
The number 60,000 was raised again today by someone else. The likely number of taxpayer funded US State Department influencers at local levels, tasked with keeping distrust happening, keeping the silos siloed, mixing bitter and sweet, information and disinformation. Keeping US homeland color revolutions going. Maybe some bringing about the great awakening.
Our family worked on our first state rep election campaign in 2010, a tea party candidate who would be called MAGA today. In four years the acid in our state silos ate him out from the inside and he eventually moved to Texas.
In time, watching acts and results, the silo keepers start to glow brightly. And, at some point, the "flame throwers" are turned on you, and you shrink away, as new recruits with bright eyes take over the turning of the grinding wheels of elections, policy, candidate development.
I have two consolations.
1) The acid, the fires of the silos have not removed God's mercies from me. I pity the political puppeteers who glory in using up people, when inside they are withering away.
2) A major part of that goodness is our family relationships. We served in public policy together, and can still laugh and live together, even if we have been sidelined multiple times.
So, we continue in life's basics. Plying trades and professions and having families. Caring for the land and eating its fruit. Renewing our minds with eternal metrics from the living Word.
And we watch and wait while the 60,000 earn their bread, creating or diverting the great awakening.
NB: I am debating posting this. Do I want to rumble? Draw down someone's wrath on me? But, life must go on after the election, and this reality of un-silo-ing needs to be addressed. I would challenge the happy counter color revolutionaries at CHT to settle in somewhere and become truly local, to make trainers of trainers, not just couch happy news junkies. Nuff said.
To quote Junior, "Free your mind, your a$$ will follow."
To grasp the magnitude of the problem, you need to tear down your own inherent biases. That can be very difficult to do when those same biases are what tend to shape our "rationalizations" of the world, and more specifically, our defense mechanisms.
Good people still deny that COVID was a scam and the vaxx was/is dangerous. Living in denial is safer than facing the truth.
I understand and share your passion, but respectfully ask that you refrain from using profanity. You're better than that, and articulate enough you don't need it.

And there in lies the rub.
